Note
1. “Novice
Exhibitor” is one who has never had the experience of showing/handling
an alpaca in a show ring in front of judge and is
Alpacas of any age, colour and sex are permitted. One entry fee will entitle the same alpaca to be entered in the appropriate (age and colour) breed class on Sunday, providing that the alpaca is duly registered with AANZ and has a brass IAR ear tag. Entry into breed class will be automatic. Late scratching on the day for the breed class will be accepted.

The supreme Suri and Huacaya Champions will automatically win their
respective Best Colour in Show class. The rest of the Best of Colours will
be judged from all first place winners of their respective classes.

This class is for the exhibiting of progeny from the same sire. The
sire does not have to be shown at this show. Progeny can be owned by
different exhibitors. Progeny are shown in groups of 2 and can be of mixed age, sex and colour
but must have been shown in their respective championship classes at this
show. This class is to be entered on
the day of the show. The entry fee ($20), sire’s name and names of the
progeny entered are to be registered with the Chief Steward before Event
2176. Note

This class is for the exhibiting of progeny from the same dam. The
dam does not have to be shown at this show. Progeny can be owned by
different exhibitors. Progeny are shown in groups of 2 and can be of mixed age, sex and colour
but must have been shown in their respective championship classes at this
show. This class is to be entered on
the day of the show. The entry fee ($20), dam’s name and names of the
progeny entered are to be registered with the Chief Steward before Event

Novice Exhibitor of the Show -
Convenor’s Award
This award by the Convenor is in recognition of success at this show
and of effort and commitment in exhibiting in New Plymouth.
Eligible novice exhibitors are those entered in Class
1201 and all such entries will be considered for this award
automatically.
Exhibitors will gain credits for results in the qualifying Class
1201, as well as in all other classes in which they enter, exhibiting the
same or any number of other alpacas.
Credits are gained according to the number of alpacas entered in the
show by that exhibitor.
Credits are gained according to the distance travelled to get the
exhibitor and the alpacas to New Plymouth
The award will be made at the conclusion of the Show (Event 2186) and
will be determined by the Convenor.
Class may be further split into age and colour group should entries
allow. To be judged on their handling ability and knowledge of their alpaca. This class is judged on the handlers ability to manoeuvre their alpacas
around a course of obstacles in order to demonstrate his/her ability to
understand and follow instructions and relate to and control his/her alpaca. This class is judged on the presentation of both alpaca and the handler
as well as the handler’s ability to manoeuvre their alpaca around an
obstacle course in order to demonstrate his/her ability to understand and
follow instructions and relate to and control his/her alpaca.

invoices will be issued based on the entry fees received. Entry
fees are non refundable where entries are subsequently withdrawn from
competition (Exceptions
– classes 2182 to 2185, Entries for these classes
to be registered with the Chief Steward on the day at least 30 minutes
before the start time of the class.) All
alpacas entered in championship classes must be registered with the IAR and
carry a brass ear tag displaying its corresponding IAR number. (Exceptions
– classes 1201, 2287 to 2294). Copies
of registration certificates are required to be enclosed with entry forms Please
note that A1 forms are not acceptable. The
exhibitor is the owner(s) listed on the alpacas registration certificate. In
the case of a registered lease, the lessee is deemed to be the owner. The
exhibitor must be a member of Alpaca Association New Zealand ( full or
associate). The
age of the alpaca is its age on the day of the show. All
animals must belong to a Clear TB herd where whole of herd testing is
performed in accordance with the AANZ voluntary scheme and either (a)
the herd they come from has a current valid (clear) TB whole of herd
certificate and is situated outside any declared Movement Control
Area for cattle and deer as defined and mapped by the Animal Health Board or
the herd they come from has a current valid (clear) TB whole of herd
certificate and they are situated within any Declared Movement Control Area
for cattle and deer as defined and mapped by the Animal Health Board and the
specified alpacas attending the Show shall have been tested clear of TB
within 60 days of the Show Copies

exhibitors or handlers must place their animals in pens allocated by the
convenor by Placement
of animals in “trade pens” can only be done with permission of the Chief
Steward. Animals
should be entered in the correct class for colour of the animal, not
necessarily the colour shown on IAR certificate. A colour check by the Chief
Steward (or delegate) can be requested at the time of registration on show
day. Exhibit
numbers and catalogues are to be collected from the Stewards table within 30
minutes of the start time Exhibitors
should check that all details in the catalogue for their entries are correct
and advise the Chief Steward of any anomalies No
animal shall be allowed to leave the show prior to the presentation of all
ribbons and/or trophies without the permission of the Chief Steward. Failure
to comply will result in forfeiture of any ribbons received and deletion of
that exhibitor from the official AANZ records of the Show.
