This show is a two-day, stand alone show offering a full schedule of classes, for both Suri and Huacaya breeds and for fleeces The Show also aims to provide a launch pad for Novice Exhibitors who have not ventured into the Show world before. On offer are seminars on show preparation, on show ring craft, and on alpaca assessment through the Judges eyes, as well as a competitive class, restricted to novice exhibitors, which allows (and encourages) discussion with the judge. In addition there will be a special award, Novice Exhibitor of the Show, which acknowledges commitment associated with participation in this Show. Classes cater for registered and unregistered Suri and Huacaya alpacas and fleeces. Central Region Alpaca Show in New
Breed Classes Julie Bird. Julie Bird - "The Gorge Alpacas" - Sydney, Australia Julie Bird, with her husband Richard, has been breeding alpacas since 1993 in Arcadia - just north of Sydney. When not on the show circuit Julie manages "The Gorge Alpacas" herd of over 100 animals. Julie graduated as an Australian Alpaca Association Judge in 1995, qualifying her to judge both Suri and Huacaya breeds, as well as fleece. To satisfy her need to learn more about fibre, Julie completed the Sheep Wool Classers' Certificate Course in 1999. She also became certified at the International Alpaca Judging School in Peru in 2000 as an International Alpaca Judge. Since 1995 Julie has judged numerous Regional and Royal Shows within Australia with alpaca numbers varying from 25 to 300+. Internationally she has enjoyed judging shows in New Zealand, Germany and Canada. In 2005 Julie had the honour of judging the AAA National Show in Bendigo, Victoria.
